Okon Onuntuei is the Managing Partner at LagoonStone. Before joining the firm, he served as the Group Chief Strategy Officer at NGX Group Plc, an organization dedicated to supporting the global financial markets. In this role, Okon led various mission-critical strategic initiatives, playing a crucial part in the recent demutualization, corporate restructuring, and global listing of NGX Group.
With a background that includes roles at prominent financial institutions like Citigroup and JP Morgan Chase on Wall Street, as well as key positions in frontier markets with Afrinvest West Africa and Chapel Hill Denham as an investment banker, Okon possesses a wealth of experience. His cumulative deal experience exceeds $30 billion, notably playing a pivotal role in executing on one of Africa's largest M&A deals, involving Dangote Cement with a total value of $14 billion.
Okon earned his MBA from Florida A&M University through an academic scholarship from the R.E.A.D.Y Foundation, established by Mr. Raymond G. Chambers, a renowned philanthropist and the current World Health Organization’s Ambassador for Global Strategy. Currently, Okon serves on the Boards of Morse Code Ltd, an African-based holding company, and G4F Limited, an independent telecommunications conduit firm.
